Skin Renewal during Sleep

The largest organ of the human body is actually the skin. The skin helps major purpose is to protect our entire body from the outside world. The skin is the first line of defense we people have and with that, it is exposed with numerous and various bacteria, chemicals, ultraviolet rays of the sun, and other skin damaging environmental factors. Everyday exposure to skin damaging factors adds up, which makes skin renewal to be of much importance. There are very many different ways on how to renew one’s skin, and one of which is renewing the skin during sleep.

Tips on Renewing Skin While Sleeping

Just like mentioned above, skin renewal can be done while a person’s sleeping. Here are some easy tips on how to renew your skin while sleeping.

  1. The very first thing you need to in skin renewal is cleaning your skin from the outside. Washing your face with a gentle facial cleanser before going to bed will help in removing your makeup and other dirt and bacteria from the face. Washing the face with a gentle facial cleanser will help in clearing out our pores from any pore clogging dirt and secreted sebum, which will be very important in preventing acne outbreaks.
  2. Ultraviolet or UV rays of the sun are the major culprits for skin damage. It is inevitable for people not to be exposed under the UV rays of the sun. Aside from UV rays, repeated muscle movements of the face can also damage the skin, especially collagens, which are responsible for our skin’s elasticity. That is why, dermatologists are recommending for people to use creams that contain retinoids. Retinoids are derived from vitamin A that can repair damaged collagens. To enhance skin renewal during sleep, using creams with retinoids should be used at night.
  3. If both numbers 1 and 2 will be followed as a nighttime regimen, then you will definitely help your skin to renew naturally and healthily. Always remember to keep yourself hydrated by drinking lots of water all throughout the day. Even if you are drinking enough amounts of water during the day, it is still very important to apply the right moisturized for your skin. Moisturizers can also come with sun protection that will not only keep your skin moisturized, but it can also help in blocking UV rays from the sun. However, if the product you are using in step 2 already contains moisturizer, then you do not have to apply a different moisturizer already.
