Teenagers need to get at least 8 hours to 9 hours of sleep every night, for them to function better during the day, especially when they are in school. And encouraging your teenager to sleep around the same time very night and let him or her wake up the same time every morning, even during weekends can help him or her get enough amount of quality sleep.

There are a lot of activities that are not so important that teenagers engage in. Teenagers usually have a hard time in prioritizing things. As parents or guardians, you can help your teenager to prioritize their activities, since they always think that sleep is not a priority. Parents should make sure that their teenagers should prioritize doing their school works before doing other things. If your teenager finds it hard to get enough hours of sleep, because, he or she joined too many extracurricular activities, maybe you can talk with him or her in reducing the number of extracurricular activities your teenager is joining.

As parents or guardians, you can help in improving your teenager’s sleeping environment by keeping his or her room organized and clutter-free. You can also give your teenager a comfortable bed to sleep on and install dark colored curtains to help in keeping your teenager’s room dark.
