Basically, narcolepsy is connected to additional symptoms which help distinguishing narcolepsy from sleep disorders and idiopathic hypersomnia is included to those sleep disorders. The main symptom of narcolepsy is excessive sleepiness in daytime, but there are many other symptoms too that can be spotted in a patient who suffers from the effects of narcolepsy.
