Many adults suffer from sleep deprivation, and getting enough sleep is important for our physical and mental well-being. If you are having a difficult time falling asleep or staying asleep, it might be possible that you have a sleeping disorder. Over the Counter Sleep Remedies for Adults

It is possible to purchase sleeping remedies from your pharmacy without a prescription. Often times, these remedies contain an anti-histamine, which can be found in coughs and colds medication. Other Remedies: Valerian and Melatonin

Many herbal medicines are based on an herb called valerian. It is an herb that is from a plant found in Asia and Europe, and it works as a mild sedative in aiding adults who suffer from insomnia. Valerian is non-addictive and does not cause morning grogginess.

On the other hand, melatonin is a hormone that can be taken in capsule or tablet form. It helps reduce the time your body needs for it to fall asleep. It alleviates insomnia in the sense that it corrects your body clock and tells you when to fall asleep and when to wake up. It is usually used by those who work in shifts or who are suffering from jet lag and who are in need of natural sleep remedies for adults.
